Alim (Jimi Mistry) is a Pakistani who lives in London, thousands of miles from his family in Canada, for one very good reason -- he lives with his boyfriend Giles (Kristen Holden-Ried). His coming out begins to get exposed when his mother Nuru (Suleka Mathew) shows up to find him a proper Muslim girlfriend and convince him to return back home for the extravagant wedding of his cousin Khaled (Raoul Bhaneja) who used to be his kind of childhood lover.
