Het verhaal begint in 1988, waar de hetero, Amsterdamse drugsdealer Simon (Cees Geel) een vriendschap sluit met de homoseksuele Gooise tandheelkundestudent Camiel (Marcel Hensema). Camiel is gefascineerd door het wereldje van Simon, maar hun vriendschap wordt op de proef gesteld tijdens een vakantie in Thailand. In 2002 komen Simon en Camiel elkaar weer tegen. Simon blijkt dan ernstig ziek te zijn. Camiel sluit niet alleen weer vriendschap met Simon, maar ook met zijn dochter Joy (Nadja Hüpscher) en zoon Nelson (Stijn Koomen) die bij Simon wonen. Simon wil niet als een kasplantje eindigen en besluit om euthanasie te plegen. Hij wil daarmee wachten tot na het huwelijk van Camiel en zijn vriend Bram (Dirk Zeelenberg)...
The story begins in 1988, when hetero Amsterdam drug dealer Simon (Cees Geel) develops a close friendship with a gay dentistry student Camiel (Marcel Hensema) after a traffic accident. Camiel stays close in Simon's circle as he is fascinated by the way he maneuvers his own world but their friendship is put to the test whilst on a holiday in Thailand that somehow broke their relationship. In 2002, Simon and Camiel bumped on each other again and Simon immediately informs Camiel that he has cancer. Camiel revives his friendship with Simon and builds the same relations with daughter Joy (Nadja Hüpscher) and son Nelson (Stijn Koomen). If anything should happen, Simon wants to witness the wedding of his friend Camiel to Bram (Dirk Zeelenberg)...
