Félix (Sami Bouajila) habite Dieppe avec Daniel (Pierre-Loup Rajot), son amant. Il vient de perdre son emploi. Cela pourrait le démoraliser, comme pourrait le perturber sa séropositivité. Mais non : Félix a une joie de vivre inextinguible. Dans les papiers de sa mère récemment décédée, il trouve une lettre avec l’adresse de son père, qu’il n’a jamais connu. Celui-ci, un immigré arabe, vit à Marseille. Félix décide de faire le voyage pour le rencontrer. Mais au lieu de prendre le train comme il le fait croire à Daniel, il choisit de prendre le temps d’y aller en stop. Il flâne, chante sur le bord des routes. Il prend son temps et rencontre des gens chaleureux, dignes de faire partie de sa famille idéale. Ce frère, cette grand-mère, cette sœur, ce cousin et ce père hypothétiques sont truculents et attachants...
Félix (Sami Bouajila) lives in Dieppe with his lover Daniel (Pierre-Loup Rajot). He has just lost his job that could demoralize him as it would disrupt his HIV medication but on the contrary, Felix still has a joyful enthusiasm. Whilst browsing the documents of his deceased mother, he found a letter from the father he has never known. His father who is an Arab immigrant lives in Marseilles so he decides to meet him. But instead of taking the train as Daniel suggested, he chose to take time and enjoy his journey singing and dancing on the roadside. As he takes his journey, he meets friendly people who are worthy to be part of his ideal family. His made-up characters of his younger brother Jules (Charly Sergue), his grandmother Mathilde Firmin (Patachou), his sister Isabelle (Ariane Ascaride), his railroader cousin (Philippe Garziano), and his fisherman father are truculently and endearingly engaging...
