The Big Tease (1999)
This is a mockumentary about Crawford Mackenzie (Craig Ferguson), Scotland's multi-awarded gay hairdresser. When Crawford receives an invitation to Los Angeles for the World Freestyle Hairstyling Championships, he eagerly hops the first flight to America, with a camera crew in tow to record his triumphant debut in the States. Once he arrives, he learns that he was invited to attend and observe but not to compete. Crawford is at first dejected, but he refuses to take the humiliation lying down; one way or another, Crawford is determined to show off his talents for the greater glory of Scottish hair styling, with his perseverance and relentless support from publicist Candy (Frances Fisher) and Limo Driver/Operator Eamon (Donal Logue).

The Absolution of Anthony (1997). Anthony is a good Catholic boy who lusts for Joey, a handsome guy next door who loves to play basketball. Anthony stares at him each time he sees Joey playing with other hunky friends and takes that sexual drive home and tries to have phone sex with the neighborhood boys and ends up talking to the community priest.

Touch (2001). The film is a harsh, entirely narrated tale of a young man who was an imprisoned sex slave of an older man. The 16-year old boy tells his poetry-laden story about how he likes to be beaten and fucked. After his rescue and recovery, he is unable to lead a "normal" life, always seeking the violent sex he lived with day and night. Touch is a highly stylized powerful antidote to the Hollywood pablum and standard news media coverage of child abuse.
Take Out (2000). Rory delivers fried chicken while he works his way through high school. He's trying to deal with his coming out whilst horsing around with his hunky straight friend at the restaurant. When Rory makes a delivery to a huge Victorian house he meets a handsome middle-aged man who may be coming on to him.

After a night of drugs, sex, games, and deception, it is clear they need each other. Is it true love, or have they both hit rock bottom? This short is impeccably acted by the lead characters.
Gold (2005). An aging artist who is losing his vision employs a drug-addicted street hustler to paint his paintings for him in a mutual quest for salvation. Gorgeously acted and written, this was our favorite short from the 2005 film festival circuit.

JustOneTime (1999)
Just a few weeks before he's due to be married, fireman Anthony (Lane Janger) decides that it's now-or-never time for his fantasy of making love to his fiancée, Amy (Joelle Carter), and another woman at the same time. Although she has repeatedly rejected such a scenario, this time an angry Amy agrees -- as long as Anthony will make love with her and another man at the same time. Soon, the couple find themselves going on "dates" outside their relationship. Anthony grudgingly allows Victor (Guillermo Diaz), a closeted, inexperienced college student who's had a crush on him since high school, to hang out with him and his firehouse cronies, hoping all the while that Amy will call his bluff. Amy, meanwhile, befriends Victor's pal Michelle (Jennifer Esposito), a lesbian furniture maker recovering from a recent breakup. Anthony's fellow firefighters adjust surprisingly well to their colleague's new friend, but problems ensue when Amy's expatriate parents show up early for the wedding, interrupting their daughter's tentative experimentation.

Trick (1999)
A young gay aspiring musical theater writer/composer searches in vain for someplace to bed down with a sexy go-go dancer in this sweet-natured romantic comedy set in Manhattan. Gabriel (Christian Campbell) wants to compose musical comedies whilst his best friend and confidante Katherine (Tori Spelling) wants to star in his productions. On the way home from a local gay cruise bar, Gabriel notices Mark (Jean Paul Pitoc), one of the dancers from the club, catnapping in the subway. After flirting and exchanging sloppy stares at one another, Mark joins Gabriel at the latter’s small one-room apartment only to find themselves disturbed by a pet dog and Katherine and his heterosexual roommate and his roommate’s girlfriend. Their attempt to find a suitable boudoir leads them from one location to another and along the way they discover that their attraction might extend beyond a one-night stand affair.

Hit and Runway (1999)
Can two men, one straight and one gay, find happiness together writing a cheesy action movie? Alex Andero (Michael Parducci) is an aspiring filmmaker who makes ends meet by working in the restaurant founded by his father. Alex has dreamed up a character named Jagger Stevens, a James Bond-style undercover agent who is trying to infiltrate a drug smuggling ring operated by super models. Alex's cousin Norman (Bill Cohen) works in Hollywood as a producer and actually thinks the Jagger Stevens idea has potential, so he asks Alex to write a script. However, Alex doesn't know the first thing about screenwriting; he signs up for a class in writing for film, but he hasn't made much progress beyond attracting a girl named Gwen (Judy Prescott) whom he isn't even sure he likes. However, there's a new waiter at the restaurant, Joey (Kerr Smith), who is good looking, gay, and has an admirer named Elliot (Peter Jacobson) who happens to be a screenwriter. Alex and Elliot meet through Joey, and before long begin collaborating on a script, although Jagger Stevens is a good bit different after Elliot gets through with him.

Segunda Piel (1999) Second Skin
Elena (Ariadna Gil) sabe que el enfriamiento que atraviesa su matrimonio no es algo temporal. Alberto (Jordi Mollà), su marido, un joven y prestigioso ingeniero aeronáutico, acaba de entreabrir una nueva puerta y parece decidido a atravesarla con alguien que no es ella. Alberto no pretende fingir, sencillamente está desorientado. Quiere a su mujer y a su hijo, pero intuye que la pasión que le inspira Diego (Javier Bardem) es algo más que deseo. Diego, traumatólogo en una clínica privada, es un hombre sin dobleces ni prejuicios que se tira de cabeza a la piscina del amor arriesgando en ello su estabilidad emocional y profesional, como le advierte su jefa y buena amiga, Eva (Cecilia Roth). Los engaños, las escenas de dolor, y la desconfianza crecen, interponiéndose entre los tres amantes.
Elena (Ariadna Gil) is very much aware that the cooling gap in her marriage is no longer temporary. Her young aeronautics husband Alberto (Jordi Mollà) has opened a new door and he is determined to enter it with someone else and not her. Alberto is not being pretentious but disoriented. He wants his wife and son but at the same time he desires for the intense passion he has with private clinic traumatogist Diego (Javier Bardem) who is sound yet he is willing to throw himself to the pool of love risking his emotional and professional stability as warned by his chief and good friend Eva (Cecilia Roth). The deception, the scenes of pain and the growing suspicion, intervene in this love triangle.

Kampvuur (1999) Camp-fire
In Kampvuur, the narrative short film follows a scout camping trip during which Tijl (Joram Schurmans), a teen boy that lacks self- confidence, abandons his girlfriend Ineke (Circé Lethem) for a brief fling with his best mate Wout (Koen Van Heule). There's an almost painful sense of longing as Tijl tries to figure out what's going on inside of him -- yet the real problem is that he knows fully well and doesn't want to act on it. This feature is beautifully filmed with an almost hyper-real sense of nature and teen sexual yearning.
In Particularly now, in Spring, a group of young athletes gathered together for their usual sporting activity whilst Olaf (Olaf Nollen) narrates the day (in English), talking about his goal to become a big-time first and foremost as well as his enjoyment of the camaraderie between physically active teen boys. His innocent desire is palpable but wonderfully understated. The film is in black & white.
In Matroos, teenager Joram Roodhooft (Joram Schurmans) dreams about sailor Tom de With (Tom de With), imagining his adventures around the world. The vividly colourful images are surreal and magical, whilst the actors convey fairly profound emotion without ever saying a word. This is a silent film in colour.
In Saint, black and white photography is used again and another silent film that tells about the trial and execution of St Sebastian (Olaf Nollen), known as the patron saint of homosexuals. Stunning imagery combines with a simple story to build real suspense -- and an uncanny level of eroticism -- as Sebastian is led through the woods, tied to a tree and then targeted by the Roman army's archers.

Sobreviviré (1999) I Will Survive
La historia de Marga (Emma Suárez), la sufrida protagonista, no es como para tomársela a risa. A sus 32 años, en un breve espacio de tiempo pierde muchas cosas: su empleo, a su novio, que muere en un accidente de tráfico... y para colmo descubre que está embarazada. Con todo esto tiene que empezar desde cero e intentar reemprender su vida descubriendo en ella una vitalidad que pensaba que no tenía. En la nueva lucha por la supervivencia conocerá la verdadera amistad, la satisfacción de la maternidad, descubrirá el amor de Iñaqui (Juan Diego Botto) y terminará por asumir que la vida no tiene por qué ser perfecta.
32-year old Marga (Emma Suárez) seems to be having a streak of bad luck as in a short period of time, she lost so many things that were so dear to her: her job, her boyfriend who died in a vehicular accident, and to top it all, she discovers that she is pregnant. But she has to survive so from scratch she discovered her own vitality. In her struggle to survive, she finds true friendship, her appreciation of motherhood, discovers her love for Iñaqui (Juan Diego Botto), and assumes that life after all is not perfect.
