Manuel Tur y Andreu Ramallo tienen diez años cuando la Guerra Civil llega a la isla de Mallorca. Su primer encuentro con la crueldad de la guerra se produce al ver cómo fusilan al padre de un amigo frente a la tapia del cementerio. Transcurridos diez años, Manuel y Ramallo se reencuentran en un sanatorio de la isla. Ambos, hijos de la guerra y la miseria, está afectados por la tuberculosis, si bien la afrontan con posturas diferentes: Ramallo ignorando la enfermedad y Manuel, refugiándose en la religión para evadirse de una muerte que siente próxima. Entre ambos se iniciará una nueva amistada basada en la fascinación de Manuel por la vitalidad de Ramallo y en la admiración de éste por la entereza de Manuel. Pero poco a poco la postura religiosa de Manuel frente al mundo, entra en crisis al darse cuenta que lo que siente por Ramallo es algo más que amistad.
Manuel Tur (Bruno Bergonzini) and Andreu Ramallo (Roger Casamajor) spend ten years in the island of Mallorca during a civil war. Their first encounter on war cruelty is to witness a father of one of their friends being gunned down in a cemetery. After the war, Manuel met Ramallo in a sanatorium on the island. Both sons of war and misery, are affected by tuberculosis, although faced with different postures: Ramallo ignoring the disease and Manuel, taking refuge in religion to escape a death. Between the two will start a new friendship based on the fascination of Manuel by the vitality of Ramallo and Ramallo’s admiration for the fortitude of Manuel. But gradually the position of religion in Manuel goes into crisis when he realises that what feels for Ramallo is more than just friendship.
